To prepare the grout we use a mixer which can be employed with an electric drill and a bucket.
Although we are going to work on a large surface, we only prepare a small quantity of the DAVCO
adhesive as these preparations set very rapidly and we could have problems when applying the
jointing mortar or cleaning it.
The mixer rod is hexagonal and can be used with any electric drill.
The elements should be introduced into the mix in the following order: first the water and then
the tile cement, so that the mortar does not dry out at the bottom of the bucket. Care should
be taken when starting the drill, as this mixer mixes from the bottom upwards, and an abrupt
start could spatter mortar outside the bucket.
The mix should be completely homogeneous and suitably thick. The proportion of water to mortar
is indicated by the manufacturer DAVCO).
A piece of advice: Latex can be used in place of water, giving a better final result in the jointing.
