As the first rows of the wall are perpendicularly aligned with the floor tiles, before positioning the first
tile we need to mark the alignment of opposite walls using a marking line or laser level.
We start laying the floor, ensuring that the whole tile is positioned in the most visible part of the floor.
We spread the DAVCO tile cement with a 48 cm trowel so that we can do more work in less time.
We position the marking line between the marks previously made for alignment and then, from the
line, position the first tile, taking into account the spacing between tiles, both for floor tiles and
between wall and floor tiles.
For the flooring, we spread a layer of DAVCO tile cement on the back of the tile and also spread a
bed of mortar on the floor. The thickness of this layer depends on the evenness of the floor.
This combination improves the adherence of the tiles and avoids gaps being left, which would
increase the risk of tiles breaking.
While these tiles are being laid, we need to monitor the longitudinal alignment with the line or laser
level, and the transverse alignment by using the cross-heads.
The second and subsequent rows should be aligned following the pattern of the first row, checking
the levels tile by tile.
