After installing the first level of the floor tiles, we can move on to the other levels, paying particular attention to the edges of the steps. With these it is necessary to unite the vertical tiles with the horizontal ones with an exact 45° cut, as these areas are highly visible and must also support the weight of a person going up or down the step.

Usually the CLEANING BLOCK is only used when the disk advances with difficulty on cutting and it is necessary to flush the diamond. But in the case of mitred joints such as those of a step or those of the edges of the bath it is preferable to use the CLEANING BLOCK first to ensure that the cut is as exact as possible.

Detail of making a 45° cut.
To make the mitred cut, we drop down the part of the table designed for this purpose, obtaining a contact surface of 45° with the disk. We then adjust the tile with the disk by means of the lateral stop and slide the unglazed part along the work surface.

A correct mitre is one which gets as close as possible to the glaze without touching it. If the tile which requires a mitred cut is not a whole tile, then the mitred cut should always be made on the new end of the tile, that is to say that which has not been cut, so as to achieve a correct longitudinal measurement.

For perpendicular cuts using electric machines, the ceramic tile will slide directly along the lateral stop.

With the correct RUBI machines, we have achieved a perfect floor and a quality finish which demonstrate our professionalism.
