Once we have decided exactly how we want the bathroom to be, we can draw up a list of the
necessary materials, tools and equipment. We should be very clear about all the materials, and
if possible we should have all of them available before starting to work.
It is also advisable to have some templates which indicate the exact placement of the water pipes
and wastepipes for the bathroom fittings. These measurements are usually standard but there are
variations, such as for cisterns, which can be top or bottom filling, to the left or right; or wastepipes for
baths, bidets and toilets, which can be vertical or horizontal, depending on the model or the
required layout of the fittings in the bathroom.
