There are various ways to apply the tile cement to the walls, but the most frequently
recommended by tile cement manufacturers is to evenly spread the paste from the bottom to the
top with the trowel. Then, and before laying the tile, the tile cement on the wall should be
keyed horizontally, as this improves the tile's resistance to vertical displacement.
The first tile determines the thickness of the tile cement and the position which needs to be
maintained for the rest of the tiles. It is therefore advisable to check the correct positioning
of this tile.
We should lay it, as explained in the section "Starting Point: The Border", in
the place indicated in the initial plan as the best for the overall layout.
Horizontally key the cement on the wall to improve the tile's
resistance to vertical displacement.
